Giving Birth over Being Pregnant Anyday

By the title of my post you can obviously tell that I hated being pregnant and loved being in labor. I had an awesome experience giving birth to Lylah.
To start off my actual due date was around April 20th or 21st, but I was going to be induced April 12th so that my family could plan on being here when Lylah was born. Well by April 9th when I went to the Dr. I was still dilated to a little past a 3, which sucked because we were really hoping i was dilated further so that he would just induce me that day! Well that didn't happen so we came home and went about our day! Then the next morning at 3am I woke up thinking did I really just wet myself, haha! I thought man this is weird I always wake up in time to get to the bathroom. Well when I got up I realized my water broke. I woke Sean and my mom saying umm... I think my water just broke. Sean said "no just lay back down and go to sleep." So I went ahead and called the Dr. and told him what had happened and he said go ahead and go to the hospital because if your water broke we need to monitor the baby's heart rate. So we load up and head to the hospital which is about 30 minutes away. Well at 3:28 to be exact I start having contractions 4 minutes apart and not to painful. Then by time we get to the hospital and in my room all hooked up I am dilated to a 6 and my contractions are 2 minutes apart. It was really funny because my nurse told me that the she made a bet with the other nurse that I would deliver my baby before her patient would and that lady was delivering her third child and had been there before I had gotten there. So at this point my contractions are getting stronger, but my nurse was awesome and helped me relax. I was ready for the epidural at anytime, but first they had to get some info from me, get blood work done, and get my IV started. Once that was finished I finally got the epidural thank goodness. The epidural wasn't bad either, I was kind of worried that it would hurt, but the only that was uncomfortable about it was having to stay bent over and very still while she was doing it while having contractions. By 5:20 I was then dilated to a 8 and 100% effaced so things were moving very quickly. Then at 7am I was dilated to a 10, but we waited till 8:15am to start pushing. We pushed for a while until we had to stop because the Dr. wasn't there yet and was further away than the nurse thought and Lylah was ready to come out. One really cool thing that might be gross to some of you was that we asked for a mirror so I could see what was going on and they roll in this huge mirror for us to see everything. Once the Dr. got there I only had to push once and she was out. There was no pain and I wasn't too numb that I couldn't feel anything which I liked a lot. Overall it was an awesome experience and I just hope it will be that good with all of my children. Sean was great through all of it. I was a little worried about him just because I wasn't for sure how he would react to things but he loved it.
We are having so much fun with our little girl!!! I am so excited to have the opportunity to get to stay at home with her and see her grow and teach her new things.
